Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I get a speed bump installed on my street?

In 2003, the City of Fresno establish a series of new air quality improvement policies known as Reasonably Attainable Control Measures (RACM). In total where nearly 70 new policies that are air improvement measures that can be achieved without a significant cost. One of these new policies was the prohibition of speed bumps. Speed bumps slows a car down so it can cross over the bump and then when the car accelerates, significant increased pollution results. As a result, the City no longer installs speed bumps.
